Is dry skin getting you down? Could your legs and skin use a little bit of extra love? We are right there with ya’ll. Dry skin is the worst and finding a whole body moisturizer at a fraction of the cost of traditional high-end creams and body butter can be difficult. Why not try and find a simple natural solution.
This DIY is going to leave you smelling soooooooo good! Good enough to eat good. This one goes out to all the chocolate-loving goddesses out there and it's not complicated or hard to make.
We wanted to create a body butter that would be able to keep us moisturized all day…something that not only did the job but left us smelling crazy good. Step in COCOA BUTTER - a highly effective ingredient brimming with fatty acids known worldwide for its ability to hydrate and nourish the skin while improving elasticity. It’s also rich in natural plant compounds called phytochemicals. These substances may improve blood flow to the skin and slow skin aging by protecting against damage from the sun’s harmful UV rays.
In addition to cocoa butter, we have used Shea butter for its ability to moisturize dry skin, treat blemishes, reduce skin inflammation, anti-aging effects, provide relief to itchy, dry, peeling skin, restore elasticity, reduce razor irritation AND reduce stretch marks!
To complete this DIY we added a bit of coconut oil to aid in getting the consistency and glide we love from a good body butter.
Last but not least we added our Evening Primrose Oil and Lemon essential oil!
Evening Primrose soothes and moisturizes the skin, scalp, and hair enhancing elasticity and giving you a youthful glow! You just cannot beat this powerhouse ingredient if you are looking to promote a healthy, clear, rejuvenated complexion. We loveEvening Primrose Oil for its ability to address roughness, wrinkles, redness, dryness, and irritation! Facilitate the healing process by adding this to your body butter (you can use a different carrier oil in place of this if you choose…try our Almond oil, Jojoba oil, Grape Seed Oil or Argan Oil if you want to switch it up!
Lemon Essential Oil is known to provide the skin with many benefits such as a complexion that looks vibrant and feels healthy and smooth. It may even reduce the appearance of cellulite, and act as a tightening and toning astringent, reducing the amount of oil production in skin and hair. It also adds a lovely aroma and complements the chocolatey aroma of the cocoa butter!
