Essential oil blend to help children study and stay alert at school

It’s that time of year. It’s the harsh reality of so many still riding that summer wave. The lists have been made and conquered, new clothes and backpacks have been acquired. Everyone is deciding what to wear for the first day.

We love hearing from other mindful mothers and teachers alike about new and fun ways to incorporate essential oils into our children’s lives. With school creeping up on us we figured a back to school post would be a great way to share some of the easy natural remedies we’ve incorporated into our own daily lives and we would love to hear your recommendations as well!

Study Buddy is a favorite blend among our customers that we hand out at demos across the country. This enhances memory, concentration, clarity and one’s ability to stay alert. Simply add 6 drops Rosemary, 3 drops Peppermint, 3 drops Grapefruit, and 2 drops Cedarwood or Basil in a diffuser at home while studying. Then put the blend in something more portable (see suggestions below) for use during tests and quizzes in school. This blend has been known to have nostalgic effects which make it easier to recall memories.

The tricky part can be getting it to school with your child and them using it. We have a variety of different diffuser necklaces and bracelets that are useful. Our AromaPods, easily thrown into a backpack, can also be an option. Remember, when starting this technique with your child it can be as simple as putting Study Buddy on a cotton ball or tissue and putting it into a baggie in your child’s backpack for them to take out when recalling sight words and studied material in school. However, you should always check with your school about any policy they may have about essential oils before sending any to school. You could even ask for support to help remind your child to use their study buddy to help with recalling information studied the night before.
