Best Essential Oils For Head Lice

Lice B'Gone Recipe

Wyndmere Head_Lice_B_Gone_Blog-With_Mint_Rosemary-Tea_Tree-Peppermint-Geranium-Lavender-Rosemary-Jojoba_1oz-Glass_Mister_Bottle_4oz

Hey there! With kids returning from camps, and school starting up again, there's a topic that not many people like to talk about – lice. But don't worry, and we're here to remind you that you don't have to wait until it's too late. Taking precautions is the best way to avoid the challenging (and unpleasant) task of dealing with them.

When it comes to preventing and getting rid of head lice, several essential oils have been traditionally used, including Peppermint, Tea Tree, and Rosemary. You can create a preventive spray mist by adding 10 drops total of these essential oils per ounce of water in a spray bottle. Spritz the hair, paying particular attention to the hair lines behind the ears and nape of the neck. Spraying the shoulders and neck can also help repel unwanted hitchhikers. Additionally, you can spritz the hairbrush before tying long hair in a ponytail or braid for added protection.

Don't worry, there's no need to panic. Even if the mishap has already occurred, it's not too late to take action! Try your hand at making a DIY hair oil remedy using the blend provided below.

DIY Lice B’Gone Blend: The essential oils in this blend have a long history of traditional use for preventing or removing head lice in a natural way.

- Alternatively, you can create a refreshing hair mist by mixing a small amount of conditioner with Peppermint or Tea Tree into water in a mister bottle.

- Use this mist to freshen your hair in the mornings before school by spritzing it onto your hair, brushes, or combs.
