Essential Oils And The 4th Of July - Outdoor Spray

4th of July

Happy Independence Day! If you think this post is going to be another post for our outdoor spray…you’re right. How can we not remind you that our recipe is a good tool to have when heading out to see fireworks with family, out on the lake, hiking, reading, outdoors, or sitting by the campfire.

Citronella has a fresh grassy, lemony scent with a calming effect and is commonly used to ward off insects making this a brilliant essential oil to use in our outdoor spray.

To make this recipe at home you will need 20 drops Citronella, 20 drops Eucalyptus Lemon, 20 drops Lemongrass, 20 drops Geranium, 20 drops Lavender, 2 oz water, 1 oz witch hazel, and 1 oz aloe vera. Place water, witch hazel and aloe vera in a 4 oz mister bottle. Add the essential oil drops to the carrier liquid. Shake well before every application.

The EOs in this recipe are non-toxic, non-irritants, and generally non-sensitizing, making it safe for use with children and pets - but always be sure to dilute your EOs. You can use this spray on your entire family.

Where are you heading outdoors this week?
