Solstice Blessings

Today marks the shortest day of the year as well as a full moon! This event will not happen again until 2094! This is a great time to tune into the magic and beauty of the season and take time to appreciate the small things.

Throughout the ages, from ancient Egyptians, Celts, Swedes, Mayans even Native Americans (just to name a few), Solstice has been a significant time of ritual, reflection, and renewal. We love the idea of creating a meaningful celebration of winter Solstice to add to your current holiday activities. Let it help you cultivate a deeper connection to nature.

One our favorite Solstice traditions is to light a fire (a yule log if you will). We then quietly take the time to reflect and take an inventory of the past year. We write down on paper all that we are ready to release and let go of and then throw it into the fire. Not forgetting the importance of manifestation, we jot down all our dreams, wishes, and intentions for the year ahead in our journals.

Our favorite essential oils to use during Solstice are…

Mandarin: A nervous relaxant, this EO has a way of calming the mind while simultaneously elevating your mood. Try anointing pulse points with this beautiful EO before meditation.

Grapefruit: Bright and uplifting, this EO has the ability to lift a winter's day. We have a bottle of this on us at all times in the winter here in Minnesota.

Frankincense: Boosts the immune system, helps reduce stress, and is exceptional for meditation…this EO is always amazing but, we really love how Frankincense blends with both of the above EOs.

Happy Solstice from Wyndmere Naturals to you.
