Diy skincare routine

Have you ever been sitting there smelling face creams - a very personal and important decision given that it’s going to go on YOUR FACE - and you just couldn’t find one that smells exactly the way you want it to? Always using unscented but yearning for that perfect aroma…? Perhaps a bit dramatic but we think you get the point.

Not to mention not all skin needs the same thing! Tailoring your own skincare routine to meet your unique needs with just the right essential oils is not only beneficial but fun!

Try using one of our Unscented Creams or Lotions as the base, or even our Hydrosols! With a little creativity, you're going to LOVE what YOU come up with!

When taking care of your skin it is always important to remember not to neglect your neck and chest - a common thing women wish they had taken better care of - because a good skincare routine is for every age and should be adjusted throughout the seasons and over time as you age.

To make your own DIY skincare routine here are “a few” (ha!) EOs that are great for skin care.

Oily Skin:  LemonClary SageMandarinRosemary, PeppermintYlang Ylang,  and Neroli all can help balance oil production.

Dry Skin:  LavenderCarrot SeedYlang YlangCinnamonTangerineRose, and Immortelle help keep skin moisturized.

Blemishes:  LavenderCinnamonTea Tree, Chamomile, and Rose for treating (and preventing) minor blemishes, and SandalwoodRosemaryGeraniumTangerine, and Frankincense for prevention.

Toning:  LemonSandalwoodClary SageGeraniumLemongrassFrankincense, Myrrh. and Immortelle are all-natural astringents.

Mature Skin:  Carrot SeedFrankincenseRoseChamomilePatchouliMandarinn, Immortelle,  and Neroli can help firm skin, improve elasticity, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

…and a few carrier oils:

Jojoba Oil - its makeup is so similar to the natural oils (sebum) your skin produces which makes it one of the best carrier oils for natural skincare products. If you prefer less sheen on your skin choose this oil. Soothe skin conditions like acne, psoriasis, sunburn, and chapped lips.

Sweet Almond - packed with vitamins A, B, and E. Mild-scented and easily absorbed into the skin. Caution: those with nut allergies should choose a different carrier oil.

Argan Oil - high in vitamin E, Argan oil helps boost cell production in the skin, moisturizes, and eases inflammation. It is even said to increase skin elasticity and soften lines and wrinkles. WHAT!?! Sign us up!

Coconut Oil - whether fractionated or solid, coconut oil contains plenty of fatty acids plus vitamins A, C, and E, all of which give the skin a tighter, firmer look.

Vitamin E Oil - antioxidant, making it effective at combating the effects of free radicals, also said it may be beneficial at reducing UV damage to the skin.

Aloe Vera - contains antioxidants, enzymes, Vitamins A and C, and is highly anti-inflammatory. It may be helpful for burns, acne, and dry skin. Best used for more superficial topical skin issues.
