Spring Cleaning with Essential Oils
Spring cleaning season has finally arrived and this year you may be looking to use natural cleaning products. At Wyndmere, we love utilizing pure essential oils for this exact purpose. With a whole host of benefits, these oils can bring a whole new dimension to your cleaning routines.
We’ve put together our recommended essential oils for cleaning to help you get started!
Natural Cleaning Products
As you build out your natural cleaning collection, we suggest the following:
- Distilled white vinegar
- Baking soda
- Reusable spray bottles
These items are put to good use, as you’ll see in the following recipes.
What Essential Oils are Best for Spring Cleaning?
Lemon: Lemon essential oil is a great option to encourage freshness. We love it in the kitchen, and because it helps
increase concentration and alertness, try it in your office or study spaces.
One way to use: A few drops with a combination of distilled/filtered water and distilled white vinegar in a spray bottle and voilà! You have a refreshing all-purpose cleaner.
Orange: This refreshingly fruity essential oil helps bolster a positive outlook and mental clarity. Because orange can be used to help alleviate stress, use it in spaces where you like to relax.
One way to use: Combine a few drops of Orange essential oil with ½ oz. each of distilled white vinegar and olive oil to create a natural wood cleaner! Use with a soft cloth for optimal results.
Peppermint: Peppermint helps with
alertness and focus, making it perfect for busy spring cleaning days. Bonus: it can help deter spiders, ants, and even mice!
One way to use: Mix a few drops into a spray bottle filled halfway with distilled/filtered water and half distilled white vinegar to create an effective window cleaner!
Other Pure Essential Oils to Incorporate Into Your Natural Cleaning Routine:
Grapefruit: This is a perfect substitute for orange and lemon if you’re looking for a citrus-y alternative to mix things up!
Lavender: This floral scent accentuates the beauty of spring. Mix a few drops in a spray bottle of water and use it as a
room spray for a relaxing addition to your spring cleaning.
Wyndmere Tip: Try experimenting with different blends to find a combination you love, or to reflect seasonal changes.
